The Ackley-Smith Foundation is a family charitable foundation established in 2025. Guided by a commitment to compassion, justice, and sustainability, the Foundation exists to advance causes aligned with our deepest values: animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and social justice.

Mission Statement

The Ackley-Smith Foundation supports and empowers efforts that protect and improve the lives of animals, promote environmental sustainability and climate resilience, and/or advance social justice, equity, and dignity for marginalized communities. Our work is guided by the belief that even small, focused grants can act as anchors, helping organizations stabilize, grow, and amplify their mission.

Governance

The Foundation is overseen by a three-member board of directors. The board meets routinely to review grants and investment performance, and to vote on governance resolutions.
